hotels in mallorca.
The largest Balearic island · family-friendly · direct flight 2h35 from AMS. From Palma's cathedral to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. The most-booked Spanish island in our inventory.
Accommodation only · not a package holiday, so no SGR package guarantee. Add a flight or transfer and it becomes a package with SGR cover.
one island, five holidays.
Mallorca is not one resort town · it is fourteen, each with its own character. The north (Alcúdia, Port de Pollença) is calm and family-friendly with shallow water. The southeast (Cala d'Or, Cala Millor) has the prettiest cala bays. Palma combines city life, cathedral and beach. Magaluf is young and loud. And the Serra de Tramuntana mountains (UNESCO) are a cycling and hiking paradise.
Mallorca works because everything is close: transfers from PMI airport take 15 to 65 minutes, the island crosses in 1.5 hours, and a rental car unlocks the hidden cala beaches that buses never reach. Tourist tax (€1-4 p.p. per night, Balearics) is included in the price upfront.

Mallorca has a sea breeze that keeps Jul/Aug bearable · but May and September are the real gems.
our tip: September beats July on Mallorca · the sea is 24° (warmest of the year, heated up all summer), prices sit 35% lower, and the crowds are gone after the school holidays. For cyclists: March-May and October, when the Tramuntana cols are not too hot.

mallorca questions.
Which side of Mallorca for a family with small children?
The north: Alcúdia and Playa de Muro have kilometres of shallow, calm water · ideal for toddlers. Cala Millor (east) has a long traffic-free promenade. Avoid the southeast calas (Cala d'Or) with small rocky bays and deeper water for the youngest.
Do I really need a rental car on Mallorca?
If you stay in one resort town (Alcúdia, Cala Millor): not strictly needed, there are buses + excursions. But the real Mallorca magic (Sa Calobra, Cap de Formentor, hidden cala beaches, mountain villages Valldemossa/Deià) is car-only. Recommended for at least 2-3 days. From €165/week from PMI.
Is Magaluf really just partying?
The centre of Magaluf (the "strip") is young and loud. But the wider area (Palmanova, Son Caliu) is calm and family-friendly · same beach, different vibe. Book 500m from the strip and you get the beach without the noise.
Can I swim in May/September?
September is the best swimming month · the sea is 24° (warmest of the year). May is more mixed: air 25° but sea still 18-19° (fresh). For guaranteed warm sea water: June through October. For warm air but a cool sea (sightseeing/cycling): April-May.
How far is the airport from my hotel?
PMI sits next to Palma. Transfer times: Palma 15 min · Playa de Palma 12 min · Magaluf 25 min · Cala d'Or 50 min · Sóller 40 min · Alcúdia 55 min · Cala Millor 65 min. The north and east coasts are furthest · keep that in mind with small children.
What is the Serra de Tramuntana?
The mountain range along the northwest coast · UNESCO World Heritage. Known for cycling routes (pros train here in spring), hiking trails, and spectacular villages like Valldemossa, Deià and Sóller with its historic wooden tram. A day with a rental car + the Sa Calobra serpentine road is a highlight.
