Hotel Royal

This hotel is the oldest hotel in Gothenburg, is located in the very heart of the city. The original building was constructed on top of part of the citys old fortifications. The hotel opened its doors to the very first guests in 1852.

On entering the lobby, you will see our beautifully patterned stone floor, the much admired ceiling - painted by an artist whose great talent was not matched by his fame, and the marble staircase with hand wrought, iron banisters in Art Nouveau style. This welcoming first impression is confirmed by the the friendly reception at the desk, and the pleasant smell of freshly brewed coffee and baked cake. And so it continues throughout your stay - from a wonderful night's sleep to a delicious breakfast buffet.

The hotel is a calm oasis, yet offers immediate access to pedestrian areas and shops, restaurants, cultural events, parks and Central Railway Station. The Swedish Exhibition Centre, Ullevi Stadium, Liseberg Amusement Park and Göteborg Opera House are just a few minutes' walk away.
