The Spatz ApartHotel history begins at the start of the 20th century in the Jewish precint of Kazimierz. In 1922, a wealthy Jewish family opened a hotel at todays Miodowa Street. The hotel was named after the family's last name. The hotel flourishes until the beginning of World War II.
Today, thanks to its new owners, the hotel continues on with midwar tradition. The hotel has been rebuilt and the rooms decorated in a professional yet discrete way giving a fantastic homely atmosphere.
The ApartHotel is located in Kazimierz - the birthplace of Judean culture in Poland. It is a district of Krakow placed south of the Kings Castle, full of labirynt streets, low tenements and historical spirits from the past...
Kazimierz came to life in 1335 thanks to King Kazimierz the Great. In its origin, it was a separate city located near Krakow. It had its own Square with many sales boths and a Town Hall. Towards the end of the 15th century, another Polish King - Jan Olbracht, ordered the whole Jewish population to be moved into Kazimierz. Due to this very fact, Kazimierz became the center of Jewish life within Poland.
