Riga finally now has the hotel it has needed for years, one that is three-star, centrally located, in a building of architectural note, and yet is totally up to date. The HANZA HOTEL which opened in May 2007 is all this and much more.

It is situated in an area of Riga now full of novelty, vigour and above all of variety, although most of the buildings date from the early 20th century. Tourists will like to open their windows onto the view over the early 19th century Church of Jesus,the tallest wooden building in Latvia. Almost as close is the Academy of Science, the most blatant stamp from the Soviet period, with its recently-opened tower now offering the best viewpoint over Riga. Business visitors will appreciate the easy access to so many of their likely contacts as hotel is close to the bridges across the Daugava River.
