In 1897 Gaudenzio Ciana, first hotel owner of the family, settled in Santa Margherita Ligure from the original Orta San Giulio, in the Novara provinces, where he was the owner of Hotel Belvedere which he had built. Throughout this century his great grand children have continued the prestigious tradition that he had created.
