The Stylish Place to stay in Rye
Set in a commanding position on the east cliff of the Ancient Cinque Port Town of Rye, this small luxury hotel is acclaimed and acknowledged as one of the finest, not only in Sussex, but indeed throughout south east England.
Rated 3 stars by the AA and with a coveted Gold Award for quality from VisitBritain, this little ‘gem’ of an hotel is owned and run by the de Courcy family, all experienced hoteliers of many years standing dedicated to their art of hotel keeping. This is reflected in the numerous recommendations of the hotel by leading guides including Conde Nast Johansens, Fine Individual Hotels, Signpost and Best Loved Hotels of the World.
Staying at Rye Lodge Hotel is always an enjoyable experience at any time of the year. The surroundings are elegant and comfortable, the food delicious, the atmosphere relaxed - and the service second to none! You can even arrive in style in the hotel’s own elegant 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II.
The hotel occupies what many feel is the finest location in this lovely medieval Cinque Port town. Perched upon the East Cliff, with panoramic views across the estuary and the Romney Marhes, yet close to the High Street with its quaint antique shops, art galleries, tea rooms, pubs and fine restaurants and 'within a stone’s throw' of the Landgate, an ancient monument built in 1326 as one of the entrances to the town and still standing to this day but a few steps from Rye Lodge. The whole town within the Citadel is a conservation area and designated as of historical interest.
