Hotel is located in the St. Gertrud district at the outskirts of the old Hanseatic downtown. The location is very quiet and idyllic, surrounded by beautiful old linden trees, directly at the Lauerholz forest area. The house, built in 1903, is named after Major Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig von Arnim, who heroically died on a sandhill near Lübeck-Wesloe, while trying to free Lübeck from the French invaders. A monument honoring him is located directly next to the hotel.
Hotel is an ideal starting point for numerous outings, due to its central location (for example public transportation available directly at the hotel). The historical old town of Lübeck with its seven towers, the Holstentor, numerous museums, town hall, Niederegger Marzipan, Buddenbrook house, theater, music and congress hall, is located only 3.5 km away from the hotel and can be reached by car or bus in 5 to 10 minutes. The former "Hanseatic Queen" is world-renowned and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Use the opportunity to visit the Baltic Sea (Travemünde with Brodtner Ufer cliffs ca. 12 km or beach at Timmendorfer Strand ca. 15 km), Mecklenburg, the Holsteinische Schweiz, or the Duchy of Lauenburg. Many events are also worth seeing, such as "Iceworld" and "Sandworld", the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, excursions by ship on the Trave river or on the Baltic, etc. Many athletic activities such as fishing, golf, swimming, sailing, riding, surfing, fitness, wellness can be easily reached from hotel.
