Some time away in a setting of wine, culture, sports, leisure and of course the Moselle! This impressive river makes the valley through which it meanders a popular place for young and old. Many linger on her banks in one of the attractive villages which originated there centuries ago.
Cochem may be the most beautiful and definitely the most diverting place in this valley. This town is characterized through its little towers, the medieval fort, snug alleys and marketplaces and its colorful half-timbered houses. The village centre is made up of numerous shops, restaurants, bars, wine bars and for this region typical ‘cellarpubs’ where you can spend a pleasant day or evening out.
Smaller, but certainly not less picturesque, is the village of Ernst, only four kilometers from Cochem. Here, for generations on, many wine growers still practice their profession in a traditional manner. To taste the delicious products of these “Winzers” in an authentic ambience, one can descend into one of the various arched cellars under the old houses of Ernst.
The old vicarage of Ernst forms the stage of the Landhotel “Altes Pfarrhaus”. This natural stone built house lies directly at the Moselle side and offers a wide view over the with grape vines cultivated hills. A terrace with a view over the river, eight luxurious bedrooms and a breakfast room which is transformed into a pub every evening are the ingredients for a pleasant stay.
